It's been just over 2 years since we lost our wee Dee Dee. She fought so hard to stay with us. The vet found my 12 month old angel already gone when they went to give her medication at midnight and i will never forget that awful call. My daughter became the adult as i fell to pieces. She died alone without her mummy's cuddles and i will never forgive myself for that. She brought so much into our lives in her very short life and introduced us to this wonderful breed. If it hadn't been for her we wouldn't have ended up living and sharing our life with our wee angel/devil/princess Lux. A little bit of my soul died that day with my beloved wee Dee Dee. We never got to say goodbye and the tears and hurt rush back without warning whenever i think of how frightened and alone she must have felt. Run free Dee Dee. Gone but never never ever forgotten. xxx

the guilt can destroy you and you mustn't let it do that ...think of how loved she was, and always will be ..so many dogs will never know that ..hugs and as we lost our first beardie at 18 months old I know the pain xx Beautiful picture of her too x

I remember how your little Dee Dee battled Crying or Very sad A brave little girl Crying or Very sad

Please don't beat yourself up...I know just how you are feeling Crying or Very sad as my George died on our wedding anniversary...he was only left alone for a very short time, but waited until we had left the room Crying or Very sad She knew you loved and cared her. Cherish the memories and give Lux a big cuddle.xx

Dee Dee wouldn't want you to feel like that. The way they love us is exceptional and a leson to us. She would be pleased that you have another beardie to love. I know you feel bad that she died alone but they don't think like we do. They don't know what death is and she would have just let go and left this life. We humans often struggle to cheat death and can make the passing much harder.
I do hope these feelings of your will fade with time and you can stop being so hard on yourself- you don't deserve it.

Can only imagine how you must feel, Heidi was nearly 12 when I lost her but the pain doesn't ever quite go away, although Jethro, bless him, has healed most of the broken heart.

Hugs from me and Jethro

Tears in my eyes reading this, I know exactly how you feel having lost my dear little Echo almost 2 years ago in very sad circumstances. We will never forget our special beardies.

It was a terrible thing to happen, poor mite. Like I said at the time, I'd be beside myself, too, but try to think she would have been asleep with the drugs and wouldn't have known what was happening in the way we worry what might happen to us. x

I know how you must feel, having our dear Meg being helped to the bridge only last month. Neither of us were here as I was in Hosp. and Geoff on his way home. Meg just had the Vet holding her. We never got to say goodbye holding her. Crying or Very sad At least she had a good long life being 15, but not saying goodbye is the hardest thing ever.
I have always held my Beardies in my arms, all being very old.

Your girl was robbed and so were you. Thinking of you.xxxxx

So sorry, I don't know how I missed this! Crying or Very sad

Your heartfelt post brought tears to my eyes! We all know what it is to lose a beloved dog, but few of us, thankfully, have to lose them as young as DeeDee, and I don't want to even imagine what that must be like! Crying or Very sad

Please don't feel guilty - DeeDee's life was short, but she was soooo loved, and sadly too many dogs never know that love and security.

Run free DeeDee, gone from our sight, but never, ever forgotten.
