THE JUDGE.

Ex Army Colonel Felix Manners Sludge,
Recently became a Dog Show Judge.

His shortcomings though are obvious and blatantly highlighted.
He is as daft as a brush, half deaf and extremely short sighted.

He was voted in by a V.I.P friend, a very well known !Who.!
Just because he wore the old school tie, not because of what he knew.

Being an old cavalry man his legs are a little bandy,
Each day he smokes a dozen big cigars and drinks a bottle of Brandy.

It is "blithering this" and "Gadzooks" and "What-o chaps" and "Blast it."
It is quite obvious the old boy has flipped his lid; the truth is, he is !past it!

At his first Dog show he arrived so late all the Dogs and owners had departed.
Totally unaware he clapped his hands and said"Okay lets get this show started."

Despite this hiccup he was chosen to judge at a top Beardie show.
So he laid off the drink and on the right date off to Aberdeen he did go.

Alas the poor Colonel got it slightly wrong, the place he should have been,
Was the Royal show ground in Cornwall, which is a long way from Aberdeen.

He alighted from the train in Aberdeen; he began to follow the crowd.
"Are Ye here for the show" said a Scotsman. "I'm the Judge" he said "and proud."

He arrived at the show and assumed control with a "what-o, waffle, prattle, prattle."
The highland games crowd watched amazed as he judged the Highland cattle.

"Gadzooks" he said, "Tut Tut, Dam and Blast, many places I have been,"
"But these Cornish Bearded Collies are the biggest that I've ever seen."

He had a large swig of his Brandy until bright red his nose did glow.
He awarded Best Puppy to a Shetland Pony and a set of Bagpipes won Best in Show.

He blithered his way through the crowd
And made observations out loud
But oh those faux passes
He should have worn glasses
Instead of being old fashioned proud
