Thanks for asking Judy. Smile

We had a great time on the beach thanks although I forgot how difficult it is walking up and down the dunes in soft sand.

Buddy has been doing great. He has not jumped up frightened till yesterday and he has been fine with traffic till this morning. We saw the vet this morning and she said he still has the infection although itís much better, so he has got more drops. I have noticed this morning that once I have put the drops in his ear a few minutes later he jumps up frightened and comes to me for a cuddle, then soon settles down. Itís like now the feeling of the liquid in his ear is spooking him.

When he sees me with the drops he puts his head down and must think not again, Sad he is quite stressed out by it all now. Smile

Thank you

It's great to hear Buddy is doing so well Very Happy thanks for updating Chris. Just a thought has your vet sent off a swab from Buddys ear to make sure she is using the right antibiotic? Some years ago one of ours had an ear problem and when the vet did a swab it turned out to be Pseudomonas a very difficult bug to get rid of and needed some special treatment.

Thanks Jacquie,

Yes the vet took a swab the other week when she took some blood so hopefully he is on the right antibiotics.

I have to go back again next Monday to make sure itís all gone.

Itís been 7 years since his last ear infection but I need to make sure this one does not come back again as its affect on his behaviour has been big.

Thank you

Aww Buddy - I would think that not only the feel of the liquid in his ears is a bit freaky for him, but because his ear has been so poorly, he is almost expecting it to hurt. And, his ear might still be quite sensitive even now. Aww. hugs

Thanks Nina,

You are right Judy as when the vet looked in his ear he gave a big yelp so it is still sensitive for him. Sad

He has been nice and calm tonight and getting cuddles from my daughter. I am now the nasty person with the ear drops Twisted Evil but am sure he will forgive me. Sad

He made me laugh today Very Happy as our vets has two doors to the actual vets surgery room, you go in one way and out the other. Buddy was excited to go into the vets but when it was our turn he walked right into the vets surgery room and out the other door without stopping to see the vet, he knew what was coming. Shocked Crying or Very sad

Aw. Chris, bless him.

That sounds just like Millie. As soon as she sees me pick up her flashing collar she is reluctant to come forward even though once it is on she is raring to go for the walk.

Do hope he continues to improve.

Good to hear that buddy is getting better. Who would have thought an ear infection could have caused so much bother!

I noticed a lump in between Buddyís toes the other week and asked the vet to have a look for me. She said it was nothing to worry about and to leave it as it was not bothering him. Yesterday he would not stop biting his paw and there was blood all over the floor. It has grown and changed in its texture so we saw the vet this morning. She said it could be an in grown hair which has become infected or a tumour.

He is on antboics, painkillers and a gel and she will see him again in two weeks. If itís no better she will have to do a biopsy.

Just bought a booty so he canít chew it.

Oh dear Buddy is really putting you through it Chris, hope it's nothing serious, my first thought was an interdigital cyst but I guess the vet has ruled that out?

It could quite easily be a grass seed that become infected, is there any pus coming out if you squeeze it? I used to check my Beardies feet after we'd been for a walk, if we'd been in long grass. I quite often had to remove the seed.

Thanks everyone,

I think at first the vet thought it was a cyst and said yesterday it may be a grass seed but could not see anything and she seemed to think it was either related to hair or a tumour. I think they are a still unsure and it could be anything.

Hopefully I will see improvements in the coming days but she seems great in himself.

Thank you

Hope his paw gets well quickly. Such a worry worry when they aren't well.

Just out of interest... we bought a rather lovely sound bar for the tv and it has improved things no end ... but ... the improved sound has bothered Mollie. She gets up, looks concerned, turns round and round and goes into a tight ball. I think she can hear things we can't. She is getting used to it now though.
