Hmmm does conflict slightly with what I got for Christmas - a mug and coaster saying "I can't keep calm I have a Bearded Collie"!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I just have to watch Hobbes to feel calm, apart of course from when he's doing things he shouldn't be doing - which tend to be quite regular occurrences Embarassed Embarassed

C'est la vie Very Happy Very Happy

I must admit. . . . I saw the first stages of the posting that caused the trouble on Face Book. Shocked ( I was so angry at the first response that I couldn't answer (I know, very unlike me Confused )and was going to wade in after dinner when I had calmed down, only to find that the post had been removed (thank goodness) they are still simmering a bit now, but I'm having no part and really feel sorry for the lady who posted first Evil or Very Mad
Really glad to be back on here xxx

Same as you Sue, couldn't believe the tone of some of the posts (even from some friends). I knew then it would get quite heated, but not the subsequent outcome. Definitely better to stay out of it.

PS - Sue, will I see you at Crufts this year??

Goodness, it sounds very unpleasant over there. I shall keep well away and limit myself to seeking help and advice from this forum or from personal contact.

I really must do something about reinstating my sig pic, poor Millie feels left out.

I missed the whole thing on Facebook and would have been interested to know what happened.

It has been said many times in the past that the written word can easily be misconstrued. People need to think about what and how they write things, and I would say, if you cannot do it politely then don't write it.

I do think in general though that we are all fairly supportive on here and do tend to look out for each other. Currently we seem to be the same, small, group of people who know each other well, many of whom have met in the real world and have become lifelong friends.

It's a bit sad that we don't use this site more. In the old days more people were happy to give advice based on their own experience, a shared knowledge that helped the group. No one was expected to be absolutely right, but naturally there were people with more knowledge than others and it was always good to hear from them on a particular issue.

Some of us (you know who you are “dear”) enjoy this site for the informal fun element .. others like to focus on health issues or training etc .. what ever your interests, it would be so good to have loads of diverse topics to read and comment on once more.

Come on in, the water's lovely Wink

Well said Gilly.

I certainly value the friendships Millie and I have formed and welcome any suggestions that might help the pair of us. Having only had one beardie before, Megan, who was bright and cheeky but quite different from Millie, I have found Millie, shall we say, a "Challenge"; yes the "C" is intentional; but I am very grateful for the ideas and advice that have been given to us.

Also, the site keeps us company, when I sign in and see all the familiar names and sig pics I am quite cheered; keep it up folks.

Joy and Millie

PS. I will tackle replacing Millie's sig pic soon and please tell the annonymous "dear" to keep it up. xxx

Never heard of him... sorry

Going back to my original query about the Facebook Group, I have to say that I am less and less impressed with a lot of things that happen on Facebook. So much so if it wasn't for one or two special friends and other Groups I would be off in a heartbeat. What really irks me is the constant Crap FB itself keeps shoving on my timeline and all the pestering advertisements....

Please lets keep advertisements off this Forum.... Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

I doubt whether I shall actually participate in the Facebook Group now though but thanks to whom ever the Admin's are that allowed me to join Smile

Robert

Colin is alive Fran , though I think his RA is affecting him more and more. I don't know whether you had heard but he lost both Eddie and Sandy last year but still has Tully and a new boy called Banjo. He usually pops in over Christmas but other than a card we didn't hear from him this time.

Thanks for that Gilly I was wondering about Colin too, so sorry to hear he is struggling with the RA. I did know about Sandy and Eddie very sad, glad though that he has a new boy to cheer him up.

.... Yes, I know who I am "Dear" .. well, most of the time anyway. Wink
I love a good giggle and the random comments that my fellow Nutters put on here, more often than not, make my face ache ...
... However, I am sure that all the fine folk of the FBC would agree that the welfare of our animals is no joke. I am very serious about the care of my extended Canine, Feline and, until a couple of weeks ago, Equine family and the help and support that we have received over the years has been priceless.

As with any group, we get heated sometimes, and very occasionally this has led to a parting of the ways, always a sad outcome. Notwithstanding this though, when the FBC Community have been made aware of animals or people in need, members come together to make a fast and effective response. When wider issues have been raised, members have tried to enhance our awareness of the condition or situation, and when we have lost friends, the FBC have joined together to celebrate their lives. In the big scheme of things, the FBC is a tiny Forum, but members of it have achieved some amazing stuff over the years. It's a brilliant club. I will, of course, continue to be daft (it's my default mode) but if you prefer the company of "sensible" people, I heard that there may be one or two still out there Wink .. either way, everyone has something to offer, so why not join in ? Very Happy

I've been wondering about Colin too, and do miss his posts. I do remember he lost Eddie and Sandy. Very sad, but he has dear old Tully, gosh he must be getting old now.

Poor Colin, I do hope he's ok, I do think of him often.

Edited to save space, but I am always frugal with paper.

Oh, crikey Mark. You have just shot my legs from under me; here was I, hanging on to every word, thinking you were one of the sensible people. Must adjust my sights.

Ah, maybe they are on the "nothing to see " thread; I will go and have a look.
