Thank you everyone, and thank you all for all the cards / messages / tributes etc which are still arriving for our boy.

I have just received this tribute from my lovely granddaughters, who don't claim to be poets, but who loved our boy beyond measure, and are inconsolable by his loss.

WILLOWMEAD PRINCE OF TIDES - JAGO

Our Jago loved to bark and run,
Filled our days with games and fun;
But he never liked to be alone,
Even when safe in his own home.

And so he travelled near and far
(Despite his dislike of the car)
Just so that he could always be
Together with his family.

The boat, the beach, the sand, the sea,
That is where he loved to be;
Digging holes and chasing sticks,
Bouncing, barking, playing tricks,

On land or water, it mattered not,
Our old sea-dog cared not one jot;
For where we were, that’s where he’d be,
Devoted to his family.

Four legs or two, ‘twas all as one -
He saw a friend in everyone;
He’d leap and bounce and lick your face,
His manners a total disgrace,

For no matter how we tried to train,
His excitement we could not restrain!
His joy to see you knew no bounds -
A truer friend could not be found.

At times he drove us mad, that’s true,
But you’d never doubt his love for you -
His biggest fault, it’s true to tell,
Was simply that he loved too well.

And now we must lay him to rest
In the place that he loved best;
We’ll let him sleep, (and try not to cry),
Beneath the wide blue Cornish sky.

And though our boy has sadly gone,
His love and loyalty live on,
For in our hearts he still resides;
Sail on in peace – our Prince of Tides

A very lovely tribute to handsome Jago by your very talented grand daughters CJ.......So touchingly brilliant.....Love Joe xx

This is a truly beautiful tribute to Jago; it has summed him up perfectly and has an element of all Beardies in it (I am in tears reading it). Your granddaughters have written a perfect poem to cherish forever xxx
