Just read a vets post on Facebook telling folk not to give ice or very cold water to dogs in hot weather as it has the opposite effect. Just tepid water as usual but lots of it. I didnít know that. Thought I would pass it on.

Good point Gerrie. We got told off at the vets last week with Baillie. Tom asked if he was drinking a lot (because of his meds) I said yes we were keeping it in the fridge. He went mental and said it could cause a type of bloat. Now he has ordinary tap water. Sometimes we do things for the fur children thinking it is for the best. Embarassed

I heard that on the radio the other day I didn't know before. Did know about the bloat though.

Didnít know about the bloat just read that it would overheat them. Canít do right for doing wrong sometimes. Sad

Yes Alan our vet told us that giving them ice cubes or very cold water makes their system think that it needs to warm the body up and actually has the opposite effect to what you are giving it to them for
