Well today would have been Our Sue's birthday and its an even more special day this year as Hannah her beautiful daughter is getting married today. Sue would have been such a proud mum and i am sure she will be looking down from above. Gareth Sue's son is walking Hannah down the isle today and below is hopefully a picture of Hannah on her hen night. I will post a picture of the wedding when they are available.

A big day to celebrate for more than one reason xxx

Happy birthday Sue - rarely a day goes by when I don't remember something you've said in Chat, or posted. As Gilly says, you would have been so very proud. Sorry screen gone blurry again

Well, Sue, I have to say that for me it is the smoke alarm. My only excuse is that mine is far too sensitive. Very Happy

The Millipede and I are still bumbling along, trying not to notice that bits of us - well, me anyway - are wearing out.

But

I really don't need special days
to think about you Sue.
When there's a presence here with me
it surely must be you.

So don't you think 'cos you're up there
you're wandering on your own,
just be assured my boaty friend,
it's with us lot you roam.

So on this extra special day
I hope that you're aware
that all our days, our hopes, our loves
are there for you to share.

And as I go along my way
so many things I see
bring back your wit, your cheeky smile,
and that's enough for me.

Sleep well my friend, forever warm in the blanket of our love.

Joy and your Milliepeded
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy Birthday Sue,

I had a reminder pop up in my calendar to tell me it was today. It did make me smile as I could just imagine you cheekily nudging my calendar. Hope you having an extra special tipple tonight to celebrate Hannah's big day.

Sleep well x

Congratulations Hannah. Sue would certainly have been so very proud today.

It's very rare that a day goes by that I don't think of you or a post you made, or Harry and Sadie come to mind. Can't believe its been this long since you went away.

Xx

Four years already.
The days slip by so quickly, Sue. They say it happens when you are enjoying yourself !! Aha, I can see the nod and quick grin - you will obviously work out that I have been playing in the garden a lot, or, alternatively mooching along the trail with Millie.

You would have enjoyed it this morning - all mist and dark silhouettes, rather lovely I thought.
Image

and, of course, we couldn't leave out your Milliepede. You will be pleased to know that I have delegated the laundry duties
Image

though I suspect that the temptation to chew rather than hand over the pegs is getting hard to resist. Very Happy
Image

So there you go Sue, we haven't changed much; still trying to come up to scratch.

P.S. Just noticed that the smoke alarm has reached its expiry date, life is suddenly going to be a lot more peaceful.

Thinking of you as always.

Joy and Milliepede

Lovely posting Joy.

I find it hard to believe that our lovely Sue has been gone for 4 years, I miss her so much. We met through the FBC when we were expecting our Mackenzie and she and i flew all over Scotland (virtually i mean and not for real Laughing ) looking at place names, and then at Scottish names, and of course we settled on a good old malt whisky. We actually met in person at Crufts 2009 when a group of us all got together with our FBC logos printed on our chests. So sad when we think that both Sue and Jill have gone from our lives (but not our hearts). Will have a troll through photos later to find one or two if you all dont put some on first.

I have put on some photos below, the first being Sue with my lovely Jim who also went to the bridge last January, together with a wedding picture, honeymoon picture and a couple of sue's grandchildren Hollie and Jack which Joy sent me to post.

And finally a copy of Sue's logo for those who miss seeing it xxx

Great photos Gilly & blimey look at little Hollie!
Sue will be looking after the newbies up there, especially Jill & showing them the ropes.
Can't believe it was 4 years ago she was taken. xx

The last photo i have of Sue and I together when i was up staying with her on Ben Hope her beloved barge. Note that Hollie is still a baby.

Image

Dear Jill wrote her own words to Dock of the Bay below and posted it on our thread recording our time together.

Sittin' in the afternoon sun
They'll be gassin' till the evening comes
Watching the boats T bone in
Then they watch them T bone away again, yeah

They're sittin' on the dock of the Medway
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
They're just gassin' on the dock of the Medway
Wastin' time

Gilly left her home in Deb'n
Headed for the Me-he-hedway
Cuz she got a friend , a Kentwin
And nuffin's gonna keep her away

So, they're just gonna sit on the dock of the Medway
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
They're sittin' on the dock of the Medway
Wastin' time

Looks like no ones gonna move
Everything still remains the same
They can listen to what ten people tell 'em to do
But I guess they'll remain the same, listen

Sittin' there resting those Beards
But then no one will leave 'em alone, listen
Two and half Kilometres they roam'd
Then they headed back to Sue's home

They're just gonna' sit at the dock of the Medway
Watchin' the tide roll away, ooh
Sittin' on the dock of the Medway
Wastin' time
