Hi,

I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right section as I am a new member.

I live in Co Clare in Ireland and I am looking for information on reliable Beardie breeders. I have not found anyone over here. I owned a Beardie some (many) years ago, he was called Mr Boofy, in retrospect he rather owned us I think. He features in so many family photos that as we have decided to add a dog to the family there is only one choice.

My children are now old enough to walk, groom and care for the dog as well as myself and my other half, so I am interested in finding a puppy in the summer months.

Would anyone have information on reliable breeders with whom I could start a conversation?

Apologies again if this is posted in the wrong place or seen as inappropriate for the forum, Beardies are rare enough over here and its hard to gather info on Breeders.

Many thanks.

Andy.

Hi Andy and welcome to the FBC Very Happy You could try contacting the Bearded Collie Club ( info on the home page under Beardie Clubs) they hold a puppy list which may have some breeders in Ireland or they maybe could point you in the right direction.

Good luck in your search for a new companion.

Hi Andy ... Welcome to the FBC. Sorry that I can't help with your query, but I'm sure that someone will be able to help.

It sounds like you are going about it in the right way .. reliable, reputable breeders is the only way forward, even if it takes a little longer.

What was the breeding of your last beardie.

Regards, Mark

Not sure of his breeding line. He was KC pedigree from Cheshire I think. He's been gone for 20 years so I don't have the paperwork anymore. He was eccentric to say the least but irreplaceable.
