Thank you all. We didn’t know what she looked like as she was just a lump of bloodied fur couldn’t see any features whatsoever but we still loved her.
Sorry Nina while encouraging you I seem to have taken over your thread .. sorry xxx |

Thank you. We pick her up on Friday
( we still weep for loss of Lizzie. Such a little star )
Nina, Messenger won’t let me play but I sent you “Dogs last will and testament” don’t know if you got it? If not maybe someone on here can find and post. It meant a lot to us to read it and I have it up in the “dog kitchen” xxx |

Gerrie I have just seen and read that beautiful message you sent me, and had to have a good cry... All the best of luck to you and Lucy, another day and a half to wait until she is with you! As for me, I've sent my thought of a new friend for Foxie and me "out there" - give it any name that suits your beliefs - and then let's see what happens. |

Thank you Judy xx
It does make you teary but then it rang true also and we didn’t feel as if we were “being unfaithful” or replacing Lizzie .. that nobody or nothing could do.
Be open Nina now .. you have “put it out there” people like us have too much doggy love not to share it. You will know the one when he/she turns up.
Love and prayers for your search. XXX |

Good, Gerrie - it sometimes can feel as if the new dog is usurping the old, beloved and lost dog but it isnt like that - and that poem says it all. Each of our dogs is loved in exclusion to all the others...without excluding the others xx |

Foxie and Miss You are my first ever dogs, bur with the numerous cats who have shared my life all these years, I've never felt that a new one was "replacing" the one I had lost. I've always said that it was a new chapter in the book of my love for animals - cats, and now dogs too. If a new dog comes to me, it will be the same thing. My Miss You is forever in my heart and could in no way be "replaced", she was unique. All of them are. |

Thinking of you today, Gerrie, as this is the day your little Lucy is coming home. Can't wait to hear ("read"!) about the encounter (lots of tears, I bet!) and the first few hours together. |

The European rescues have a lot of hairies as their sheepdogs rend to be long haired breeds and the are therefore lots of mixed breed pups.
Just a thought xx |

Thanks Gerrie, I'll have a look. I'm not sure I am up to the task of handling one of those ill-treated dogs and all the problems they may have though...
My "searchh" isn't really progressing, I am kind of "looking without looking" for another dog! I have told a number of friends to let me know if they hear about a youngish and rather "hairy" dog looking for a new home, and I have regular looks at the shelter and "second chance" websites... |

Nina, that's how I got my then kittens, now cats (not for much longer if the fluffy one carries on fishing in the pond - I was down to 1 fish, have now restocked with another 10 small ones and had to cover the pond with a steel mesh to keep the little sod out ). But putting out the feelers like you are doing is how I got these 2 little darlings who were looking for homes when I was looking for kittens. (They will be 3 in November).
xx |
