Anyone used a dog ramp for their beardie? I'm not a car driver but my lovely sister in law takes us to the vet when she can (works part time) in her car, which is the hatchback type. I can't remember the make. As Jethro gets older and his owner too a ramp would be so useful, especially the folding type.

I had something like this, Mary - mine wasnt foldable but I chose plastic steps ( very study, mine were, for Betsy ) as they were lighter to manoeuver for me. Hope this helps!

Yes we've had a couple of ramps the one we have now is the best, it's very light (some are ridiculously heavy), folds in half and is very robust, takes a beardie weight no problem.

We've had it a while so can't remember the make off the top of my head but I think it has it written on it so will have a look for you Mary.

Thanks for the speedy replies Judy and Jacquie. I will discuss with S-I-L and see what she thinks. (She's a very practical person).

Hi Mary

We've had a ramp for Dougall for a couple of years now.

Its a Solvit triscope ramp. It was quite expensive but a godsend. We wanted this one particularly as it telescopes into 3 parts, and therefore takes up less room in the car.

We got it from Easy Animal, but not sure they're doing this particular one now.

I think the nearest equivalent one now to ours is called Pet Safe triscope ramp.

Have a look at this one. This looks good.

PS Yes it is me. My original account seems to be locked after I had to change the email address associated with it. Have asked Paul to unlock, but in the meantime, set up a new log-in.

Thanks guys! He had no trouble jumping into Kirsty's hatchback yesterday, but that won't always be the case, and I simply haven't the strength to be able to lift him. I want my youth back Crying or Very sad

I used to lift large woodshavings bales, and heavy bales of hay up until December 2010 when I lost Twigs the pony. Can't believe I'm such a weakling now, its not like I'm stick insect thin or anything (more the build of a connemara pony Rolling Eyes ). Think I'm going to have a hissy fit Evil or Very Mad
