Hi, everybody!
This topic has been going for over 2 years....and I just discovered it!!
As I read "Willowmead", I just had to read through and love all those lovely pictures of the Willowmeads!

My Jessye's father was Willowmead Star Turn (Jessye passed last year in March at 16 and a 1/3 years) He Dad also got to be a good old age.
Her daughter, my Jeannie is now nearly 12 years old, and HER father was Willowmead Wish for Gold. So she's got quite alot of Willowmead in her....
She is a fawnie with a honey coloured coat and lovely amber eyes and wonderful pigment..
This picture is from autumn, 2011.

WooHoo, Amy. Your Jeannie's dad was littermate to my old boy, Murdoch, who was THE most wonderful dog I have ever had the pleasure of owning, or knowing!

The litter had a "Wish theme" and my boy was Willowmead Birthday Wish, because he was conceived on my younger son's birthday, born on my older son's birthday, collected on my daughter's birthday and given to me by my O/H for MY birthday. When Suzanne heard this, she said there could be no other name for him. Laughing

Alexa, I cannot believe how much Merlin has grown since I last saw him Laughing I have a couple of close ups of his from when he was about four and a half weeks old, so let me know if you would like to see them.

Unfortunately I don't seem able to see any of the pics of Jago's nephew, wee Talisker. Crying or Very sad But I'd prefer to see him in the fur again anyway, and will do so in just 3 weeks!!! Laughing

In the meantime, here are a couple of pics of Alexa's Merlin - the first when he was 4 weeks old, and the second a week later. What a stunning little chap - I just LOVE blues.

Thank you, all for your "Jeannie comments"!

What great pictures from all these Willowmeads.

In many of them, I see that I have a good measure of Willowmead in my own pups.
I also see my Jessye's features also in many of these photos. It's uncanny!

Thank you, all!

Hi, Cleo!!
That is a great theme for a litter...and with so many birthdays, it's no wonder Suzanne gave your dog such a great name! How wonderfully fitting.

Is he still with you? Jeannie's Daddy (Willowmead Wish for Gold) passed at 10 years old, and I have no idea why. (The owner was kinda' strange and had very little contact with "the outside" world...wouldn't talk with anybody) Rolling Eyes

Love,
Amy

Unfortunately not, Amy, he would be 16 and 1/2 now, and I still grieve for him. He was my "once in a lifetime" dog, but he died naturally in my arms after collapsing playing with his friends when he was 12 and 1/2.

I now have his nephew, Jago, who is just 4 years old and funnily enough conceived on the very day that my Murdoch died. So he was born to be mine too!

Aww! Sorry to hear about Murdoch.

But so glad you have Jago. Somehow your dogs have good timing!

Cuddles to your Jago.

Amy

Amy,

Here are a couple of photos of Murdoch, your lovely girl's uncle, and my constant companion.

And winning Best Veteran in Show not long before he died.

Any excuse to look at my boy's photo again, and remember all the good times we shared.

A couple more of my favourite pics of Murdoch, Willowmead Birthday Wish - sorry, but I just love trawling through old photos of my boy - it brings back so many wonderful memories.

In the garden

The old sea dog in his favourite place in the world - a boat!!

And my all time favourite because it shows his eyes and his innate gentleness
