I saw this guy advertised a couple of weeks ago and thought he looked lovely, but they are too far away and part of the ad said that they wanted to visit any potential homes, so I tried to put the poor boy out of my head.
Julie (kiwi ted) posted it to her facebook page last week, and I noticed the family were getting desperate and starting to think about taking him to the SPCA Crying or Very sad . So I talked to John about it, and he thought about it, and thought, and thought some more, just to keep me in suspense, then said ok Smile .
I put my name foward to the owners last week, and they gave me a lot more information on Oscar, and asked what we were like, and they made their decision last night, Oscar is coming to live with us!
He sounds like such a sweetie, and I'm really excited about this. I've never got a dog as an adult before, so it will be a new experince helping him integrate into our house and letting him and Winston get used to each other.

Hi All

Oscar is a 20ish month old Beardie, he sounds like a real sweetie from the ad they put up, loves cuddles, and is in the habit of giving full-body hugs Smile
They are sadly having to find him another home as their young son is severely allergic (to many things, but they had just realised Oscar was one of them).

I'm feeling a bit up in the air at the moment, Oscars mum said we could have him, and I rung her last night to sort out details.

When I rung her up she said she had just heard from the allergist about a new drug that may be able to keep his reactions under control and mean they could keep Oscar. They rescued him from a terrible home when he was 10 months old, and are obviously very dedicated to him.

Me being me, I suggested they try raw feeding him, as I have heard a small amount of anecdotal evidence that this can reduce the amount of allergy-causing dander produced. So she will contact me on friday with whether they have decided to go ahead with the new drug (need to consider side effects etc) and we should know in a couple of weeks if Oscar has to leave (she was a bit upset on the phone, wishing they'd been told about this new drug earlier). If he has to be rehomed he will be coming to me, but I'm very much a contingency plan right now Confused

I was so emotional last night when I got off the phone, and I'm still feeling a bit wrung out now. Obviously it would be ideal for him if they could manage to keep him, but it's a bit of a rollercoaster.
