It’s Harry here – mum has let me have the keyboard tonight to tell those that don’t as yet know – we lost our Sadie a month ago - on Saturday 6th September. Her heart turned poorly very quickly after years of being monitored for a heart murmur – she was 12 and a half. It has taken me a long time to actually put all this into words as we are still hurting and feel quite raw.

Mum, Dad and me are still missing her like mad despite her having more baggage that Heathrow’s Terminal Five – I know she drove me insane sometimes – she nicked my food, my place on the sofa and occasionally my bed – and woke us up during the night - but she was always there for me as I was for her. Mum is still searching for the socks she nicked - I am sure we will find her stash at some point.

Her love of wheels was legendary and it seemed fitting that she died in Dad’s van on the way to the vets. We have her ashes here alongside Sam’s and candles will be lit on appropriate occasions to celebrate their lives.

Mum would like to say thank you to Gill Burfitt for trusting us with your precious beardie and thank you to my Mummy Caroline for making it all happen.

Thank for all the cards, messages, pm's and texts from the people we told earlier on - you helped us get through it so much.

Sweet dreams little lady

Harry, Sue and Mike xxx

Harry, lovely words Very Happy Sending you more cyber hugs and loads of love 'cos it takes an age to come to terms with this sort of thing (we are 8 months down the line after loosing Merlin, but actually don't want it to stop hurting in an odd sort of way)

Take care all of you, and we hope your mum finds the socks Sadie pinched

xxx

I read this earlier this morning and was in such shock and sadness I couldn't post immediately. Even reading this again now it is bringing tears to me again.

She was such a character and I am so very glad we got to know her a little bit - the time Peter minded her whilst we were at Eden last year she was as good as gold for him.

I know you will all miss her desperately. Sleep tight HRH Duchess of Kent. We will all miss you (and your thoughts).

Sending you all our love, hugs and thoughts at this sad time.

Such a beautiful girl and such a character. She must have left a huge beardie sized hole in your lives. I'm sure Harry is doing his very best to help. From all your posts over the years one can see you gave her a fantastic and varied life and so much love- which I'm sure will help to ease some of the pain of losing her.

Harry, that was a lovely little epitaph. Sadie was a real character & a proper lady Smile
It made me cry all over again. But you just remember to give your mum & dad extra hugs now. She will be trying to round my Ina up over Rainbow Bridge & I think they will be having a good time Wink

Such a hard thing to write Sue, but just shows how much she was loved by all those that met her and those that loved reading about her exploits.

I think of her every time I groom Bailey, as we know they came from the same yeti Smile and also when our little brown girly is being a proper madam .

So like you to not tell us when we were in Cornwall , and keep all the hurt to yourself to not spoil our holiday ...testament to the wonderful Mum, Dad and Bruv that HRH the Duchess of Kent had . Love and Hugs xx

What a lovely tribute Harry, I know how much you, Sue and Mike are missing Saides. I have been thinking about her life with you and how lucky she was to have found you all to become her family. Remember how she surprised us at the beardie races on Perranporth Beach last year - she looked so wonderful in full flow, so its hard to believe that she is no longer with you now.

My last memory of her was in April this year, scrubbling around beside me on the sofa and yipping with pleasure with each roll - Sadie dear you will be sorely missed.

Love and hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
