My favourite French association, Solidarité Bearded (SB), has been trying to find a new home for Dixou, a really nice sterlized male Beardie, for quite some time. It doesn't seem to be a very good time for rehoming, as nothing has happened for Dixou so far. He is staying in a lovely foster family but it would be so nice for him if he could find his own new home! He is prepared to cross the Channel and learn English if necessary! So... don't hesitate! Here are his details and a recent photo taken by his foster family.

Dixou was born on Jan 3rd, 2008, he is a fully registered slate Beardie, he is sterilized.
He is very well behaved at home - he is clean, doesn't bark or destroy anything. He can stay on his own for a long time.
He walks on a leash without pulling, and he comes back when called.
He is ok with other dogs (there was another one in his previous family) and he ignores other species (cats included).
He likes playing on his own, and he is also a loving dog. He likes being taken for a ride in the car.
Being groomed is not his favourite activity Very Happy - but it can be done with some patience.
Ideally, his new family would live in a house with a garden (no young children would be better), would take him for long walks and would have enough time and love to give him.
If you are interested, you can send me a pm.

If I only had one I would be interested but couldn't now afford three. He sounds the perfect pet though so somebody will be lucky to have him.

With regard to beardies needing rescue in USA it may be worth joining the B.O.N.E. group on facebook as they list american beardies needing rehoming. https://www.facebook.com/groups/156357111850/?fref=ts

Well, excellent news for Dixou: he should join his new loving family within the next few weeks in beautiful settings on a working farm... in the Peak District! An English friend of mine saw the ad for him which I had also posted on the FBC facebook page, showed it to some friends of hers and... it was love at first sight! Very Happy They already have a Border Collie and a Border-Beardie cross.

So Dixou is now attending English language classes in preparation for his new oh so British life! Wink People on the Solidarité Bearded website have started calling him Sir Dixou! Laughing

That's great! I just hope that if he is going to be a working Beardie, that he is treated well. I have seen how some farmers treat their dogs, and it isn't nice! Sad
Mind you, that's in NZ. Confused

Oh, Wow, Nina, that is where we live, as does Tracy, (tb).

Do you know exactly where he will live? We might be able to meet and he might help me to improve my French Exclamation

Dixou is going to live near Ashbourne, is that anywhere near you, Joy or Tracy?...

And don't worry, Pam, I know that he will be extremely well treated there! His future family being friends of my friend Jane's means I am 100% sure he will be happy! Wink

Goodness me Nina. Ashbourne is only 10 miles away from Wirksworth, and posssibly even closer to where Tracy lives. I wonder which farm he is going to. Perhaps you could introduce them to FBC.

It wouldn't surprise me if you or Joy met him some day, as he will be living in the same area as you!
