I am really sad to share with you that Ozzy went to sleep on Monday. He had a few sneezes before Christmas and they became more often a few weeks ago so I took him to the vet. A few days into the antibiotics he had a nosebleed and I took him to he vet straight away. While at the vet he had another. He had a rhinoscopy and the results came last Friday - an aggressive nasal tumour. Given the outlook for this cancer and the possibility of spreading in to the brain or lungs we decided to save him from suffering at the right time. We had a great week end with all the family staying and he seemed to be enjoying himself, but after they left his breathing became more laboured. He had another nosebleed on Monday and we made the heart rending decision that it was time. He passed away peacefully.

Ozzy was a tremendous character - full of bounce and life like all beardies. He has left a great hole in our lives.

Thank you for your thoughts. It does help. Jacquie - your daughter judged him as second most handsome dog in our local dog fun day. He was beaten by a huskie. Ozzy's friend, a wheaten, was judged prettiest bitch on the same day.

Jacquie, we went to puppy training classes and met you and your dogs at the Christmas party. That was in 2006 so quite a long time ago

Run free Ozzie xx

It is almost unbearable to loose a Beardie, but you obviously have such fantastic memories of a very special boy. It is those memories which will help you smile again one day xx
