Hi!

Thank you! I'm back to normal, but the city is still a nightmare Crying or Very sad . Next week is Liam last week at home before he leaves for uni Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad he's been living here most of the summer as he works for Gary, we're really going to miss him!

There's also been some personal excitement too Very Happy 36 years ago one of my sisters was in a terrible relationship, she had a baby with this man that she gave up for adoption. My sister is legally blind and doesn't have a computer so she asked me if I'd look for her..well the first site I looked on there she was!!! My sister is over the moon, this is such a blessing for her she never married and didn't have any other children so there's been loads of happy tears Very Happy

I talked to her today, she's a lovely girl! She told me she'd been to Britain just this year and she's always loved everything British Lololol. Her natural father ( horrible man) is British and my sister is half Welsh. She said she was thrilled when she found out she's 3/4 British. My mum was Dutch. She's going to meet my sister in a couple of weeks, she's 2 hours from her in Calgary. I plan on meeting her in the next few months I just want to give them some space to get to know each other first. She told me she's beyond happy to know we want her and she has a whole other family. Very Happy

Hi!

I thought it was starting to get back to normal until I called the vets to bring Jager in, I think he has a bladder or kidney infection and I was told that it would be at least a month to get an appointment. Only 7 vets came back to 2 surgeries Shocked the one surgery told me to call in the morning and say it's an emergency...it isn't, he's just dribbling a bit after he pees...ughhhhh. He seems just fine otherwise. Gus has changed considerably, I took him to the groomers a few weeks ago and she said he cried his little heart out the whole time Crying or Very sad he used to love going there, I guess it's the fear of being left. He's taken to sitting on either Gary or myself and won't leave my side. If I leave them home alone one of them or both gets destructive. I came home one day to find one of the living room curtains shredded, I haven't left them on their own since lol.

I'm hoping it's nothing serious, he had his spleen removed a few years ago when he had bloat. I think that makes them more susceptible to infection.
Economically things haven't picked up because they didn't issue any rebuild permits until the end of September. The city still looks awful...burned trees everywhere and entire neighborhoods gone. I'm glad we're in the country.

Liam is loving uni and is coming home on the 15th of December. He told me when school let's out in April he wants to move in with us....I'm sure that's to do with the fire.

Aw, Liam...do you mean he is still unsettled by it all? And so sorry that things are looking as devastated as they are, Bonnie...I guess it will be a long slow haul, from what you are saying. xx

I think so Judy. He thankfully was already at our house when the city evacuated but houses 10 down from his mums burned. It must be hard to have to look at that every single day. His mum told me that he doesn't like staying home alone anymore... Crying or Very sad

Kids are pretty resilient, I can certainly understand why he'd be scared to stay home on his own now. I'm so grateful he didn't have to drive through that horror...and us too. We could see the fire when we left but we didn't have to drive through it to escape..thank God!

Hi Bonnie life is still being effected by the fires. I do hope you get your boys plumbing sorted. Just wish I had a magic wand and make the past few months disappear.

Thanks Barbara, me too! Every time I go into the city I can't believe what I'm seeing...in the fall it used to be beautiful here, all the trees were bright orange and yellow and they would make the dullest day look bright. Now it's charred black Crying or Very sad I'm grateful the mountain across the street from us was spared.
