Thanks, just wondered if the age had anything to do with it.... Like how he reacted to the anaesthetic. |

I had a second opinion with another neurologist yesterday. He was was really kind and answered every question I had for him. He said that he was pretty sure that Freddie has a meningioma tumour and the symptoms have been made worse by the sedation . They have put him on medication to try and reduce the fluid round this tumour .
If anyone has had a dog with this (as it seems collies and golden retreivers are more prone to these ) any advice or help would be appreciated |

Although both diagnoses are neurological it must help put your mind at rest that both neurologists believe Freddie’s recent behaviour is a result of the sedation and the effect this has had on Freddie’s nervous system due to a brain lesion or tumour. |

Thanks for all your kind comments and support . He was very special and will be missed so much.....He was my clever funny boy and and has left a great void in our lives. It would have been his 11th birthday this week and so it is extra sad. I still think that the sedation (possibly by speeding up some underlying cause) or just a reaction to it caused his early passing to the rainbow bridge but unfortunately I will never know.
We are taking his ashes to Somerset to Jakes pool (All our friends known it as this as we named it after jake our beardie we lost at 16 who we left there ) as it was always a spot on the river both my boys loved to play and we can go and think about them there and our lovely memories
I hope that one day we can get a new boy (or girl) but I am frightened that Freddie will be a hard act to follow
Thanks again |

If it is of any comfort, we are all thinking of you and empathise with how you are feeling just now. It is the hardest thing we do, saying goodbye to a beloved dog, the very hardest thing. xx |
