Ah, lovely to hear Dougal is responding better now to medication and hopefully nothing more than a few tweaks will be needed to keep things stabilised and side effects will subside. Horrible to have to be dealing with the arthritis as well, but as others have said, one step at a time. Your positive attitude to working through the issues is fantastic - by no means easy to maintain with what you're dealing with. Sending lots of love and light to Dougal for continued improvement and hugs to you going through such a tough time xxx.

Whilst all this as been going on with Dougall, we have also had Fergus at the vet with suspected liver disease.

He was a bit off colour and kept himself to himself for a couple of days - very unlike him. So we took him to the vet and found he had lost 5 kg of weight since October.

He's had pretty much all the tests and scans going which have all proved negative now/so far, so we now think he was probably giving his food to Dougall and going on a self-imposed diet😊

Thankfully he's now back to normal and it was probably just one of those days for him😊

Poor Helen, its one thing after another. Fingers crossed that's all it was with Fergus and that Dougall continues to improve.

Oh dear, they do know how to pile on the worry. Hope there's no more problems with Fergus and that Dougal continues to make good progress. Take care, you must be feeling rather frazzled round the edges with all this going on xx

Sorry you've been having so much on with your two and glad Fergus seems OK. It sounds as if you've got it sorted with the Vetoryl now, it's a tricky time, and what a relief he's not weeing so much - I know from Harry what it's like and am glad you have Jo's help. As the cortisol goes down, his arthritis will flare up. Maybe he can have the Yumove Advance ? xx for them

I'm glad to report that he seems very much better. He's definitely going through the night now without waking us up. His appetite has returned back to normal and his fur is just starting to grow back on his bald patches. His tail is still the one thing that hasn't recovered at all, but I guess that will come back in time. We've tweaked the doseage to a more cost effective way which still seems OK.

One thing that has happened after his last ACTH test is that he has got a razor rash when they clipped his fur which he is obsessed at licking, so he has a bandaged leg at the moment.

We're over in France at the moment and he's very much reverted to his usual behaviour over here, but we're regretting not getting the ramp I thought about as he still can't jump in/out of the car.

It is nice to be getting the 'old' Dougall back again though, and Fergus is just fine now.

Oh I'm so glad to read about Dougall getting better, I will let my friend Muriel know as she too was concerned about him. Yes, no doubt the rest of his fur will grow back eventually.
