Fripp Update Monday Afternoon.

Fripp has had a really good day. He ate the chicken I cooked and even some of the pasta too. The ice cream plan was a disaster...I broke the end off the cone, put a blob of ice cream in there and then loaded the powdered antibiotic. There was so much of it, it completely filled the rest of the cone. I put a blob of ice cream on top to seal it and offered it to Fripp. At first he took it but then dropped it. The ice cream had gone bright pink from the ABs. In the end I had another genius idea which worked. Custard Creams...separate and stick a quarter tablet in the cream and stick it together again. Worked perfectly 🙂

My friend Jean has come to stay for the night so itís great to have a good old hug... thanks again for all your support, means so much 😘😘😘

Fabulous Fripp Update Tuesday Morning 🙂

Well what can a say...we have had the best night since he came home from hospital. First we had a lovely meal in the local pub. I put Frippís cone on because it is too easy to forget to keep an eye on him when youíre chatting. He really doesnít seem to mind it. He manoeuvres his way around and seems to manage to avoid most things.

Then we came home in time for the antibiotics which went down like a dream in the custard creams. My knack is to scrape the cream bit off, wrap it round a quarter of the tablet to seal it and then pop a bit of biscuit on each side. This wouldnít have worked of course on Sunday as he would have refused the biscuit. The two anti sickness pills are tiny and really easy to get down him.

This morning he has had his ABs and a plateful of chicken and pasta... 🙂

Some photos from last night, Fripp asleep in the pub, me preparing his custard creams and him getting his antibiotics 🙂

He looks so perky! I am so pleased for you both, it must have been hell at its worst; hard to believe this is the same dog as a couple of weeks ago ( is it really only that?).

xx

Frippís Friday Morning Update

Just got back from the vet and staples all out. Sheís given him a good clean up and he seems really happy. Next procedure to check for bacteria in the port will be done next week by Andrew Denning but he can do it at my vets.

Thank you so much to Angie Sykes-Crookell who sent this teddy bear and it was waiting for him when we got back from the vets, heís played with it and is now fast asleep on my foot 🙂🙂🙂

Frippís Friday Rather Late Update

So sorry, I got so carried away with organising my move I completely forgot to do the update. This is a really good sign of course because it means Iíve not really had to worry about Fripp today 🙂🙂🙂

Blood test done this morning to check his kidney levels and results back probably Monday but possibly tomorrow. Staples have been removed and wound is looking good and heís being very good. Heís now had his exercise extended to three 20 minute walks a day and he can gently go up stairs.

On Tuesday at lunchtime he goes in for a procedure to check for infection. There is a Ďportí just under the skin, you can feel it, and the specialist will insert a certain type of needle and draw off fluid which will then be checked. He will also take a sample of urine from the port though donít quote me on any of this as itís all a bit complicated.

In another month or so the bypass will have to be flushed which they do through the port and then he will have to have that done ever 3-6 months for life. It will be done at the referral hospital and doesnít need an anaesthetic...apparently.

Sorry again for being so late...Iíll try harder 🙂🙂🙂

Great to hear all going well. You're moving too? Feel for you, wouldn't wish that on anyone but especially with Fripp's problems. xxx
