Yes folks it’s our favourite subject again
I was wondering if any of your dogs had tummy probs when the weather is hot? Mine can do and so can I. I think the heat causes stress and that upsets things. Whatcha think? |

Yes, both of mine seem to produce poos that are looser than normal. I'm alright though! |

well I am pleased for you
I keep some prokaolin in and add it to food when necessary.. theirs not mine It’s not all the time but seems to happen in this kind of weather occasionally. Just wondered about others experiences. No oversharing now |

No problems here. Could it be due to all the flies around with their germs landing on water/food bowls or even on treats and toys? I do not know what you feed them but could the food go "off" in the heat?
The other thing is, are the dogs out in the garden more, maybe nibbling on flowers and foliage or insects?!
What way do you think the heat could be causing them stress? |

I'm not sure Gerrie, some of my lot have had a bit of colitis but that could be something they are eating/picking up. The vet that writes in our parish mag said there were a lot of upset tummies around during this heat and it seemed to be caused by a clostridium type of bacteria |

When I had a TT with colitis, the vet said not to take them on long walks when it was warm/hot, as it could make it worse.
I suppose it it like us getting deli-belly when abroad, caused by hot tums & then drinking really cold drinks/water. |

None of the above. Didn’t want this to turn into a big thing, They get a bit of colitis from time to time for around 48 hours like a lot of Beards and yes I agree that heat and stress makes it worse. No big drama just wondered about the rest of you |

Dougall and Fergus are definitely on the 'looser' side.
Mind you, we are over in France at the moment and it has been over 40 degrees for the past 3 weeks - they have been struggling a little. |

Are they sleeping with their heads in the fridge?
Goodness Helen how are you coping in that heat? |
