Molly (Thymewinds Hello Dolly) aged 12 years and 9 months old, started her KC Good Citizen 6 months ago at Bronze level. We thought she would pass Bronze , we were dubious about her Silver and thought Gold would be an illusive dream. Molly has limited movement in her back legs, she is a bit deaf and has cataracts (age related) in her eyes. So we thought most of the activites would be asking rather a lot of her. But last night she showed us all that she could do it. We were expecting to need a couple of attempts at Silver and probably 12 months working on Gold as a minimum, if we were lucky .We really never expected her to pass but wanted to try anyway. But Molly passed all 3 levels in just 6 short months. She found the training very tiring and a lot of the time she would only have the energy to practice 1 exercise a day due to the physical requirements of the Gold Level. Taking her training has brought a sparkle to her eyes and given her a new lease of life. We are so proud of our girl who came to us through Southern Beardie Aid Rescue. Thank you to our brilliant Trainer Lyn Bowers, who helped me see that I should have more faith in Molly and to Lyn Church for her tireless encouragement and support. As to what to do next with Molly, I really don't know. We have a brilliant Advanced Class at Best Paw Forward Hayes but most of it involves lots of walking, running etc and I am not sure Molly will cope with that, but perhaps I might try her with Scentwork next LOL, at her own pace of course. 😀

Molly, what can I say that hasn't been said already? I watched her training cos me and Jethro went to the same trainer at the same times for a lot of it. She's also been a brilliant "distraction" dog for the remainder of the class participants, and Jethro loves being in her company - Jacky kindly took him with Molly for training and they travelled side by side in her car. You're up there with the best of them Molly, congratulations you wonderful girl.

xx
