Perhaps now is time to try and enjoy what is around us.
We have a robin nesting in our tack room, the daffodils are in flower trees are budding and we are hearing the sound of lawn mowers again. Soon the swallows will be back .
I may be out of work now due to the current situation and at home for the foreseeable but at least I am lucky enough to live in a beautiful place and can walk the dogs and watch the summer unfold.

Very Happy Tracey, that is beautiful. Really.

We saw lots of red kites on our way up to and back from Suffolk recently - we dont get them down our way, so it was a real treat to see them. One was so close, soaring just to the right of the motorway, that we could almost hear it murmuring " worms....worms....carrion and wormsssss " to itself.
Lots of primroses in the ditches alongside country lanes, and magnolias in bud and beginning to be in full bloom. Smell of freshly ploughed moist earth in through the car window....

What stunning photos! It must be so nice to live somewhere that you can get up to those views everyday and forget whatís happening to the world right now. We still have 2 feet of snow.

Shocked Winter? Winter?? We never really got winter...a few days at the most of frosty mornings, a couple of hail showers and sleet that barely stuck to the ground down below the moors and for the rest, it was rain.

Hi, bonjour my dear FBC friendzzzz!!! Self-isolation in full swing in this country too. But as long as we have our 4-legged buddies with us, some beautiful flowers in the garden/on the balcony (depending where you live) to look at and smell, I say let's be patient and take one day at a time... This is a temporary situation!

We are not allowed to take long walks anymore here - brief ones with our dogs on a leash are permitted but that's all, the dog club has closed down until further notice... So you can imagine how a bouncy Beardie I know (her name starts with an F... Very Happy ) is reacting after 5 days at home!!!

However, Isabelle, my favourite instructor at the dog club, had a brilliant idea yesterday: she has started proposing 2 "challenges" every week to the members of our club on its Facebook page, and those of us who accept the challenges must send pics or videos to show the results of our dogs' and our efforts! Yesterday the first 2 challenges were posted:

- 1st challenge: we must show that our dogs are starting to miss their "school",
- 2nd one: we must show how long our dogs were able to stay away frpm a yummy treat placed in front of them.

This is what I posted back last night:

- Foxie says: "Now look at the rotten exercise course Mommy has placed for us dogs in the garden... When are we going back to decent traininng conditions?"
Image

- I placed some of Miss You's favourite treats on the floor in front of her and I asked her tp sit and stay. The poor little thing's rear legs were slipping on the floor and I had to struggle to keep a straight face. I thought that 10 seconds' torture were enough and then she was allowed to munch them!!!
Image

Let's keep posting cheerful or interesting things here on the website!!!

Beans...Shiraz....some smarty-party will now say that they have beans, Shiraz AND steak and kidney pie....euuuuuuuuugh Shocked

Nina, when I was reading your post to myMark, where you said " as long as we have our furry friends " with us, he chipped in with " Then we will have enough to eat! " with a wicked grin on his face. Rolling Eyes Laughing

Your photos are hilarious - if I didnt know better, I would say that Foxie has been FaceTiming ( if that is how you say it, what do I know AGAIN ) Millie to get that expression off to a fine art. And Miss You's plaintive, sweet, begging face....with those little legs jusssssst beginning to sliiiiiiiiiide...hilarious

Clever man!!! Cool

I loved those 2 Crufts videos, I had seen the one where the dog grabs that bar (hilarious!) but not the other one - I'm sure he was really enjoying himself!!! Laughing

Great idea Nina and great photos. Luckily we are behind France with the virus so are allowed as much outside time as we want, in fact we are being encouraged to get outside and walk, we just have to keep away from each other, social distancing. Not difficult were I live but might be challenging for some.
