02.02.2009 …...04.06.2020
As you know Chester has been ill for many years after a major operation for a blocked solid bile duct in Nov 2011 we were told in was touch and go....but after nearly 3 weeks in hospital he pulled through, . He was left with pancreatitis and a bile problem, but he coped very very well with medication...…
He was not as active as most beardies but he still loved life and we adored him as he was......he had a few flare ups over the years, but with our wonderful vet Alan he always pulled through
Sadly since November this hasn't been working as well as it should, but Chester still enjoyed life .
He couldn't go on long walks anymore but still loved to play with his stuffed toys, mainly his monkeys
He was never really a food fan, but this last month he has eaten next to nothing, I was hand feeding him daily and he started being sick more often...…...these passed 10 days he wasn't Chester anymore, didn't even want his monkey and would just have a little walk …….lockdown didn't help we couldn't get him to his favourite walks
We were told his kidneys were failing fast.....during last night he was so so sick
This morning we made the heartbreaking decision to let him go.
He will be cremated with his favourite monkey |

Saw your post on FB Pauline and had to come 'home'. Chester was such a special boy and will always be remembered for his antics with fences and Monkey and being such a character. You gave him everything over the years and he gave back in untold measures - I feel so much for you at this awful time. Greatly saddened to also see the loss of Lizzie and Miss You - sending love, hugs and condolences to you all.xxx |

I ma so sorry to hear your sad news Pauline and Ron.
He was a lovely gentle boy; I still clearly remember the day when naughty Millie
stole his toy and wouldn't give it back. He really wanted it back but he didn't make a fuss about it, just let her play with it for a while.
So many lovely things about him to remember as time goes on.
Sleep well Chester
xxx

Pauline, you know how much I loved Chester. He was our hero and will always be grateful for his support when our little fella had to go and have an op with the same wonderful vets. You gave me invaluable help through your knowledge of pancreatitis when Dunsley fell so ill... all down to Chester. Chester was one of the very first beardies I befriended and was very much part of our decision to have a Beardie of our own. We are so lucky to have shared his life through your fantastic posts and know you will continue to amuse us with very fond memories of such a big character. |

I can remember our first meeting with Chessie at Midland Branch Fun Day at Inkberrow, Ron got sunburn on his feet, you had to call the RAC or AA out as your car was having a problem and we both entered our to iconic photos of our best boys in the photo competition at the fun day, the photo of Chester was him jumping the fence which he was so famous for and Baillies was the one of him drinking from the bathroom tap which resulted in Jill naming him Plumber of the year in Cornwall that year as he could turn the tap on but not off so flooded the bathroom not once but twice. The old FBC were good days and hold some fabulous memories. Chester was a very special boy, and as you say a character and I can't think of Chester without thinking of Monkey. I will miss you posting about his antics. Sleep well Chester, another star to light the night sky. Pauline and Ron he will never be forgotten and hopefully you will both be able to smile at all the lovely memories you have made with him. Sending much love to you both x |
