I realise that as a Beardie site all/most doggies in here will be Beardie but I was thinking of getting a DNA test on my rescue pup from Cyprus to see what she had in her. Anyone got any experience of such or know anywhere that might do it please? Thanks.

I had a friend, Tony, with a rescue who appeared to be staffie. He had her DNA'd and it was amazing the mix in her! Its ages ago now, about 3-4 years and I think Tony's moved because I haven't seen him over our fields for ages (although I don't often go there now). He got Megan, the staffie x, through Dogs Trust - maybe they would know who you could contact?

I've had these people mentioned to me fairly recently:

https://www.wisdompanel.com/en-gb?gclid=EAIaIQobChMItfmZ1o_L7AIVrIBQBh1n7AyWEAAYASAAEgJp4vD_BwE

The only thing I would say is as she is from Cyprus they do have breeds over there that are unknown in the UK so may not be on the records. Therefore the result may not be accurate.

It will no doubt be interesting, to say the least, to know what Lucy is "made of"! Although Jacquie may be right about some breeds in Cyprus being unknown in Britain - but does the lab in charge of DNA only have breeds registered in Britain in its system?...

I'm not sure Nina but I do know that not all UK known breeds are represented on their data bases so it's quite likely.

Oh! Right! You mean Zebedee is the English name of the little mustachioed guy that French children (and adults!) know as "Zébulon"! Laughing I loved watching that programme, my favourite character was "Pollux" the dog, who spoke French with an English accent (and who looked very much like a Beardie!!!)...

In this country too, Beardies are very often described as "Zébulons"! Laughing

Laughing here he is called Dougal...and the man in my village who had my late Betsy's brother ( she was half a Beardie ) called him Dougal....nice to know that The Magic Roundabout is known in other countries...it was one of my first introductions to British childrens' television when we first moved here, and I still think one of the best. There is a new " remake "....hunh...I wouldnt dream of watching Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Good try, Judy, Mary and Mark... Wink

Ahemmm... My dear friends, I am sorry to disappoint you but... "The magic roundabout", or rather "Le mančge enchanté", is in fact a French tv production which was first broadcast (in black and white!) here in 1964. Shocked It is only much later that it was exported across the Channel, and colour tv had appeared, showing us a red Zebulon! Here he said (rrrrolling his RRRRRs!): "Tourrrrrnicoti Tourrrrrnicoton!" before going boooiiinnng!!! Laughing
