11 years old, and she has been my companion for almost ten. All those days of roller coaster emotions.:.
excitement --- the prospect of a new family member
curiosity --- what will she be like, will she be like Megan
enthusiasm --- to take on a new challenge
apprehension --- will I able able to manage her behaviour
worry --- would I be able to give her the life she should have
pleasure --- when I saw how she made people smile, especially the elderly
dismay --- when my efforts failed to produce the desired result
delight --- when I saw that she was responding
remorse --- when I didn't recognise the beginning of a correct response
satisfaction --- when her response became a reflex action
euphoria --- when she finally passed the BCC Senior Working Test
joy --- in her obvious love of life and her sense of fun
terror --- when we thought she had escaped from Pam's garden and was lost
relief --- when she was found in the under stairs cupboard having a nap
anxiety -- almost panic if I looked out into the garden and couldn't see her
love -- overwhelming when she looked at me with those lovely eyes
contentment --- when she curled up by my side and put her head on my lap
