Our apologies for being absent for so long... I was going to post an up to date photo of my boy but .... being a little old and wrinkled, particularly in the brain department.... I've forgotten how to.

Could someone please remind me.... I seem to remember it was quite a laborious process Laughing

Tarrraaaaah.... it worked. Thanks.

I shall now select some more and post them.

To answer the question. Yes Hobbes is now fully grown and is a big lad. 26.5kg. However, he is still a children at heart. Misses his friends at the Newark Dog Training classes and as I am shielding, he tends to see his local friends sporadically...

He's fine though... rules our lives but we wouldn't have it any other way.

This was Hobbes (my personal trainer) and I in September last year when we were raising money in a Go the Distance Challenge for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis... We raised over 1500 between us.

We're planning another one for this year too:

This one was taken by a friend last year. He is an amazing photographer with a the "gear" and it shows my boy charging at full pelt along the footpath across a meadow ...

Thank you Heidiwuff very kind of you.

Yes he looks like that for about 10 minutes each day after he's had a good brush and comb. We started that regime from day one and he now just lays there and enjoys it.... apart from when you catch a knotty bit.

We do send him to a professional groomer often but that's impossible at the moment. In anticipation of a loosening of restrictions later this month he is booked at the end of Feb, for a "Full Works". ... Shampoo, condition, nails and some closer trimming around the boys bits (for hygiene of course).

His teeth and gums are in good shape has a raw 300gm lamb spine once a week and loves chewing his antler. Has put on a bit of weight during lockdown now up to 27.5Kg (had him weighed at the Vet a couple of weeks ago). He is loosing it but it's hard because he hardly meets his mates these days and doesn't often get to charge about like in the action photo I posted. Although we do try tiring him by throwing his long kong throw but it's not the same as playing zoomy tag with his pals. Nor does he get to the training classes.

However, a local kennels that does "play days" is opening next week. He's been there a quite a few times and has a great time outside most of the day in a large field playing - under supervision - with lots of other dogs of all shapes and size. Two deer hounds and him are great pals... they've even been over to us and visa versa (when permitted under Tier rules). Although at this time of year he can come back from play days looking like he's had a mud bath - if the groomer isn't there to wash him off first, which she isn't right now.

Will dig out a couple more photos... of my now 3 years and 10 month Beardie (doesn't time fly) and post them later today.

Cheers
Robert

A local kennels has Very Happy

Wow, he really has grown!
I think this lockdown stuff has been hard on lots of dogs & their social lives too, not just us humans.
Let us hope it soon gets back to normal so they can enjoy some good run arounds with their friends Smile
