It is with a heavy heart and sadness that I let you know that Fergus crossed the rainbow Bridge suddenly yesterday.
He was suddenly taken ill with chronic vomiting. The vets admitted him first thing yesterday morning, but he got progressively worse.
We were able to say our goodbyes as the surgery was closed for the night, and Peter was able to stay with him as he crossed the bridge. The vet believes he had Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation brought on by ruptured tumours as it was so quick. He was bleeding both internally and externally and was very very poorly. We had absolutely no forewarning of this.
I still can't believe that he was running around normally on Wednesday morning and is now no longer with us.
He was our shadow, always with us, never letting us out of our sight. He was truly our 'heart' dog. He had a wonderful 12 years enjoying life both here and in our French home and wonderful holidays with our Beardie friends.
We will all miss him hugely💙

So sorry to hear about Fergus. I am glad you had an enlightened vet. Ours let us both be there when we lost Pickle Puss and whilst it doesn't help with the deep sense of loss, the knowledge that they weren't with strangers is a help |

Oh Helen and Peter, I am so sorry to read this awful news. Love and hugs to you... I'll let my friends on the "Amis des Bearded Collies" French website know about it as they still remember you from when you joined us on one of our Beardie weekends in France some years ago. They'll be sad to hear it.
