When we got up this morning we both commented on the fact that Chester seemed quiet..........he never eats first thing so the fact that he wouldn't have a biscuit didn't bother me

He went out for a walk with Ron, not very far because it started to rain very very heavy and they both got drenched, wouldn't have cheered Chester up as you know he hates getting wet (where out abut half an hour)........Ron said that Chester went to the toilet as usual......I dried him off and he just lay down............after about 30 mins he started retching thick white frothy stuff (nothing like the yellow bile from an empty tummy)......he then just sat staring into space.

He is now curled up on the sofa in the conservatory, his fav spot, we keep sitting with him and giving him a cuddle but he doesn't seem to want company he just wants to go to sleep.

what normally gets him excited Rip, his toys or having a brush ?....try these with him ! We've had white frothy stuff as well as the yellow bile and both were cos of an empty tummy ...bless him he may just be tired and fed up of the rain and not being able to go out !

On the odd occasion mine have been like that they usually perk up the next day - has he eaten anything he shouldnt have or stuck his nose is something horrible yesterday maybe.

I would say vets for a checkup later if you are worried or he is still throwing up- he is not a puppy - but if he is completely out of sorts then its best to get him checked over.

Also no food today just make sure he is drinking

get well soon Chester - sending hugs

Sorry to hear that Chessy isn't well Sad

Is he drinking ok, and are there any other symptoms? Has he been eating grass?

Could he have eaten something he shouldn't have?

I would keep an eye on him ( I know you will) and phone the vet if he doesn't improve.x

Image Oh poor Chessy, that's not like him at all is it Pauline. I would give the Vet a ring if I were you, just to have a chat and see if it's worth his while seeing him. If he keeps throwing up especially.
Please give him a hug from me.xxxx

They do worry us don't they. The times one of ours had been as you describe Chester and we've taken them to the vet and come out with tablets and a big bill Rolling Eyes Then the minute we walk thru the front door they are perfectly normal again. Still always took them tho Laughing Its only money Wink (and ours were never insured Shocked )

Hope Chester is ok. If it was me and I was still worried in a couple of hours, I'd be off to the vet. Let us know how he is. x

Pauline can you take his temperature?

Also keep an eye on the colour of his gums (they should be salmon pink colour) and when you press on them they will go white but then the colour should come back straight away.

Did he eat as normal yesterday?

He ate yesterday

His nose doesn't seem as hot now and is not as dry as it was

He hasn't eaten since teatime Mon

He was wandering around so as the hailstone had stopped we thought we would pop his coat on and see if he wanted a little walk........kept him on the lead .......he went to the toilet and it was solid, so he has been twice today

Just checked his gums...and are as you said they should be and bounced straight back to from white to pink

He is not drinking as much as he usually does but then again he hasn't eaten

Ron says that he has only had 2 drinks that he has seen today

We are going to put down half his tea at 4.30 when we normally do and see what he does

At the moment he is lieing on his back asleep again

Thank you all for your comments........especialy Hazel....you have enough on your hands with your litter with out helping a neurotic mum

So sorry to hear this, Pauline. What a worry for you.

Can't add anything to what everyone else has suggested, but wanted you to know we are thinking about you.

Please keep us updated, and really hope Chessy bounces back to his old self soon. xxx

Hi again Pauline . Have you found Sue's link to see if there have been any cases near where you've been, and if there has to be diarrhoea?
How is he now?

xxx

He has eaten about 1/4 to a 1/3 of his tea

hasn't drunk any water from his bowl but Ron needed to use the hose pipe and he stood and drank from that

He has been for another little walk at 7 and been to the toilet again still firm

We were wondering......How long does it take for food to pass through them, being as he hadn't eaten all day would what he passed be last nights food............Ron wonder if he could have anything stuck

He has just had another drink from the hosepipe and is lieing on his back in the living room at the moment
