It's 5 years this weekend since Chester's tummy problems began........he is doing okay
At the moment, he is not well he has been having treatment for a shoulder problem......he had a camera put into his shoulder so that they could look closer because the scan wasn't very clear.
He had another steroid injection in his shoulder on Monday just gone and is on 2 x 20 mins walks aday.....(or 3 x 15 mins because Ron wants to get him out at different times.
He is still limping but not as bad.........he has to go back to the specialist in 3 weeks time |

No it wasn't Chester has been quite sick.....most of Thursday night....rang the vets on Fri morning and they sent to more lots of pills....they are worried that his pancreatitis might flair up....
My twinbro stayed with him yesterday/last night as we had to go to the NE
Peter said that Chester asked to go out twice during the night (he slept on a mattress in the living room to keep an eye on him) ....today , since we got back, Chester has been sat with Ron watching football..... |

Chester's blood results came back great........the liver enzymes are all normal and his bilirubin is 3 ( at the height of his illness it was 239 to 243 .....his cholesterol is a little bit high...but it always is.......it's hard work keeping his diet correct, but for 6 years we must be doing things right......he has only had maybe one or two blips a year....so it is well worth it not to give him anything he shouldn't have.
Now have to sort this limp out....they say he has osteoarthritis |

Oh Pauline, his blood results are fantastic, very well done you two! I am sure they can get him comfy with his osteoarthritis, just a matter of time. Gentle nose kisses to all of you |

Great news, Pauline. What a lovely Christmas present for you all.
Hopefully the osteoarthritis is manageable, and he will be running around like a puppy again. |

Great news Pauline! As for the arthritis, if there is still some cartilage at the joints, it can be greatly improved (and even reconstructed, at the earliest stage of arthritis) with natural product complexes. |

That's great news Pauline. Dougall has osteoarthritis as well. At the moment he is just taking the ordinary strength Yumove which I know upsets Chester. Hope you can find something else suitable. |

Pauline maybe try Cortaflex as there is no Green lipped muscle in that, which may well be what upsets Chester, and also the Celadrin I mentioned earlier for it's ant inflammatory effects, apparently no side affects with Celadrin. Here's the link in case I didn't post it last time:
http://www.ace-canine.com/flexceladrin.html
Green lipped muscle is not good for me but I take Cortaflex with no problems. |

Hi Pauline
I haven't checked the health threads for ages so I am a bit behind the news.
I am pleased to hear that you have had encouraging results from the blood tests; it has been a long haul for you. Do hope that Chester will be able to get some relief from the arthritis. |

Chester has had his 6 month MOT.....all great bilirubin 3.3.....his cholesterol is a little high but it always is
It is 6 years since all this began, and Alan says that considering what he has been through over the years he is doing great
He has a problem with his right shoulder and limps a little but we can manage that
Thank you all.....xxxx |
